KU Campus Resources

  • Childcare Grant

    The KU Childcare Grant assists Lawrence campus students with childcare expenses. Award amounts vary. When funding is available, a student can fill out the Childcare Grant Request Form at ku.academicworks.com.

  • Hilltop Child Development Center

    The Hilltop Child Development Center provides student-friendly services including a sliding fee schedule and grants for childcare cost. Priority for enrollment is given to student families on the waiting list and there are optional care for periods when KU classes are not in session.




Community Resources

  • Ballard Center

    Ballard Center is a non-profit organization that provides a high quality, affordable early education program and essential basic life assistance for families and individuals in need, including assistance with rent, utilities, food, clothing, and early childhood education programs.

  • East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN)

    ECKAN is a community action agency assisting low-income persons with housing resources and other services. ECKAN's family services include case management to assist in maintaining independent living, housing voucher programs, Head Start programs for children, and more.

  • Kansas Hero Relief

    The state of Kansas provides childcare assistance to certain low-income families with working parents who qualify for this program. Eligible families can receive financial support for childcare services.

  • Lawrence Family Support Center

    The Lawrence Family Support Center is available to low-income individuals and families who need food, or assistance with basic utility payments, housing, clothing or medical prescriptions. All services are free and are based on need. The center also offers free financial education and tax preparation.

  • Salvation Army

    The Salvation Army provides a variety of resources to individuals and families in need, including youth and parenting resources for education.
